NORTHROP F-89 SCORPION

$9.95

Titles: Northrop F-89 Scorpion No’s 1 and 2

Designed as a night fighter replacement for the P-61 the F-89 first flew in 1948. However early versions experienced considerable problems with engines and other systems compounded by structural problems with wings. The first major production version was the F-89D which entered service in 1954. The last variant was the F-89J which has the distinction of being the first and only aircraft to fire a live nuclear anti-aircraft missile.

Over 1,000 were built and they remained in active service with the USAF until 1959, when they were relegated to Air National Guard service, remaining there until 1970.

We offer two titles covering later variants of this typical early jet fighter, each title containing two flight manuals for different models of the Northrop F-89 Scorpion plus an additional manual. The flight manuals have been scanned from the original manuals and retain any colour pages. Each title is US$9.95.
