Title: General Aircraft Hamilcar

The General Aircraft Hamilcar was designed to transport the heavy equipment required for advance assault forces. It could transport a light tank such as the Locust, or two Bren-carriers.

To maximise value, this title includes the flight manual (titled pilot’s notes) for the Hamilcar plus flight manuals for two other British WW2 gliders, the Horsa and the Hotspur. The files have been scanned from the original flight manuals and retain any colour pages.

This title contains:

  • RAF Pilot’s Notes for the Hamilcar I glider, AP 2219A-PN dated Jan 44, approx 37 pages.
  • RAF Pilot’s Notes for the Airspeed Hotspur I & II gliders, AP 2092A & B-PN dated Dec 41, approx 112 pages. This manual is actually a combined manual comprising the
Volume One – Descriptive Handbook, (the RAF equivalent of the USAAF Erection & Maintenance Instructions), and the Pilot’s Notes.
  • RAF Pilot’s Notes for the Airspeed Horsa I glider, AP 2097A & B-PN, dated June 42, approx 90 pages. This manual includes extensive appendices giving notes for glider tug pilots, including general notes for tug pilots, and additional notes for specific tug aircraft types when towing the Horsa.
