Titles: Lockheed C-121 Super Constellation No’s 1 and 2

Post WW2, the civil market was sluggish for Lockheed and the air force gave them a huge lift in 1948 with an order for 9 C-121A’s and one longer range C-121B. Visually they were similar to the old C-69 but were given a new designation. Most of these aircraft were used as VIP aircraft, one named “Columbine” serving as the personal transport of General Eisenhower.

A new version known as the L-1049 Super Constellation with a lengthened fuselage and increased weight (up from 86,000 to 130,000 lbs) was considerably more successful, and enabled the final production to total 856 examples.

We offer two titles on the elegant Constellation, containing flight manuals on several military variants of the Constellation and one very well illustrated manufacturer’s manual for the civil 1049C. Each title is US$9.95. The files have been scanned from the original manuals and retain any colour illustrations.
