NORTH AMERICAN F-82 TWIN MUSTANG

Title: North American F-82 Twin Mustang

The P-82 (later F-82) was developed from the P-51 Mustang as an extremely long-range bomber escort fighter. Although it looked like two P-51 fuselages and wings connected by a new centre wing section, it was largely a new design. It was too late for WW2 service, but saw active service in Korea, downing the first enemy aircraft in that conflict.

It has the distinction of being the last piston engined fighter ordered by the USAF, but only 272 examples were built. With the rapid introduction of jet-engined fighters into USAF service the service life of the F-82 was short and all were out of operational service by 1953.

This title has three flight manuals for most variants of the F-82 series.
