Title: Sikorsky VS-44A
From the late 1920’s to the early 1930’s, Sikorsky produced several successful flying boat designs, and in 1935 entered a contest for a US Navy patrol aircraft. The XPBS-1 lost out to what became the Consolidated PBY, but Sikorsky produced a civil long-range transport flying boat from the design designated the VS-44A. With WW2 looming, only three examples were built, but these performed valuable long range transport duties through the war, and one survives today at the New England Air Museum.
This title contains the flight manual for the VS-44A, plus two brochures for the earlier S-43. The files have been scanned from the original manuals and retain any colour pages unless otherwise stated.
