WESTLAND WHIRLWIND (Helicopter)

$9.95

Titles: Westland Whirlwind No’s 1 to 3

The Westland Whirlwind was a licence produced version of the Sikorsky S-55. It took some time for the aircraft design to be converted to British specifications and the first example flew in 1953. Subsequently many different variants were produced for both civil and military uses.

The first few marks used American engines, but from the HAS.7 onwards the British Leonides engine was used which offered a small increase in performance. A turbine variant was introduced in 1960 using the RR Gnome engine which was used in the HAR.9, HAR.10 and HCC.12. More than 400 of all variants were built

We offer three titles covering most military variants of the aircraft. Each title is US$9.95. The files have been scanned from the original manuals and retain any colour pages unless otherwise stated.
