MILES M.57 AEROVAN

Title: Miles M.57 Aerovan

The Miles Aerovan was a short-range low-cost passenger and freight aircraft produced by the Miles company using their traditional wooden construction. Like most smaller aircraft of the period using piston engines, it was somewhat underpowered with only two 150hp engines. However it was unusually for the time able to lift its own empty weight as payload.

The first aircraft flew in January 1945, and when production was ended in 1947 as a result of the bankruptcy of the manufacturer, another 51 examples had followed.

This title contains the manufacturer’s flight and maintenance manuals for the Miles Aerovan plus the manufacturer’s specification, a nice collection of manufacturer’s presentations and brochures, and a design proposal for an enlarged Aerovan specifically intended as a horse-box. The files have been scanned from the original manuals and retain any colour pages.
