Title: Breguet 1050 Alize

The Breguet 1050 Alize was a three seat French-built carrier-borne anti-submarine aircraft, the equivalent to the British Fairey Gannet or the US S2F Tracker. The Alize prototype first flew in 1956, being a development of the earlier Vultur aircraft. Production aircraft first flew in 1959 and 75 examples were delivered to the Aeronavale (the French Navy Air Arm).  12 examples were also supplied to the Indian Navy for operation off the Indian carrier Vikrant. (Additional examples were later supplied to India from surplus Aeronavale examples.)

This title contains two Flight Handbooks and a commemorative brochure for the Breguet 1050 Alize. The files have been scanned from the original manuals and retain any colour pages.

Description

This title contains:

  • Flight Handbook for the Breguet 1050 Alize. There is no indication on the manual who produced it, but presumably it was produced by the manufacturer. There is no date anywhere on the manual but I would estimate it is from the early 1960’s. The illustration on the cover is of the aircraft in Indian Navy colours, so presumably the  manual was produced for them. The manual is in English, though all the illustrations retain their original French. It contains 207 pages. Nice illustrations.
  • Aeronavale Manuel de l’Equipage (Crew Manual) for the Breguet 1050 Alize Modernise. Dated 1982 this covers the Alize with updated ASW equipment, and is similar in format to the first manual but in the French language. Manual UCB/AN.01.E with 333 pages.
  • Colour brochure titled Breguet 1050 Alize 1959 – 2000, produced to commemorate the ending of Alize service in the Aeronavale.
