Title: Nardi F.N.305 and F.N.315

The three Nardi brothers formed their aircraft business “Fratelli Nardi” in Milan in 1934 and their first design, the F.N.305, first flew in 1935 powered by a Fiat A.70S engine. It was intended that both single and two-seat variants be produced and prototypes of both were built. The prototype was re-engined with the Alfa Romeo 115 engine, and the Italian Air Force ordered 258, mostly two-seaters. This was followed by orders from Chile and Romania, with the Romanians also taking a manufacturing licence. Large orders also came from Hungary and France (uncompleted). As the Nardi premises were only small, production aircraft were built by Piaggio in Genoa.

The F.N.315 was an improved variant of the F.N.305 and first flew in 1938. It had a revised tail unit, an improved cockpit canopy and wing improvements. The prototype used the Alfa Romeo 115 engine but various powerplants were evaluated. The aircraft was placed in production and six Hirth HM.508 powered aircraft were built including two for the Swiss Air Force. A further 25 Alfa Romeo powered examples were built for the Italian Air Force.

We offer one title each for the F.N.305 and the F.N.315. Each title includes the Italian Aeronautics Ministry maintenance manual and parts catalog for the aircraft, in Italian, and the F.N.305 title also includes a manufacturer’s descriptive brochure. The files have been scanned from the original manuals and retain any colour pages unless otherwise stated. Each title is US$9.95.
