Title: MIG-25 Foxbat

The MIG-25 was a high speed high altitude interceptor and reconnaissance aircraft which first flew in 1964 and was unveiled publicly in 1967. When production ended in 1984 nearly 1200 had been built for service in the Soviet air force, and several export customers including Algeria, Iraq and India.

For many years the aircraft was thought by Western intelligence to be built of titanium and considered a significant threat. In 1976 a Soviet defector landed his Mig-25 in Japan and gave the West the opportunity to examine the aircraft in detail. It was found that the aircraft was quite heavy being built of a nickel-steel alloy, and had what was considered unsophisticated electronics. The aircraft held a number of speed and altitude records over the years, some of which it still holds.

This title contains digital scans of three pilot manuals in English covering the MIG-25 and four assorted Russian technical manuals covering several variants of the Mig-25. The fact that code designations are used in some manuals rather than its true designation of Mig-25 shows how much secrecy the aircraft was shrouded in. Most of the files have been scanned from a copy of the original flight manuals unless otherwise stated. The files are supplied by download.
