DOUGLAS XB-43 JETMASTER

$9.95

Title:  Douglas XB-43 Jetmaster

The XB-43 was an experimental bomber developed from the earlier XB-42 by replacing the Allison piston engines with GE jet engines. It was the first US jet bomber and the first of two prototypes flew in May 1946.

Douglas was hopeful of a production order, but the aircraft suffered a number of development problems and was eventually overtaken by impending new designs such as the B-45. The program was discontinued in 1953.

This title includes the flight manual for the XB-43, and to maximise value, the title also includes the flight and maintenance manuals for the XB-42. Due to their rarity the flight manuals have been scanned from a photocopy while the maintenance manual has been scanned from the original.
