AERO COMMANDER U-4 (L-26)

$9.95

Title: Aero Commander U-4 No’s 1 and 2

The Aero Commander series of light twins was originally designed by Ted R Smith and a group of fellow Douglas A-20 design engineers and first flew in 1948. It was in production between 1951 and 1986, though the company changed hands several times during that period. A large number of variants was produced with different powerplants and cabin sizes.

In military service the type was initially designated the L-26, and later the U-4 when designations were unified across the US services in 1962. One example was used as a presidential transport by President Eisenhower and was the smallest “Air Force One” aircraft.

We offer two titles covering the Aero Commander series. The first title contains two civil flight manuals and two manufacturer’s brochures. The second contains the flight and maintenance manuals for the main military variants. The files have been scanned from the original flight manuals and retain any colour pages. Each title is US$9.95.
