Title: De Havilland DH95 Flamingo

The De Havilland DH95 Flamingo was a twin-engined high-wing monoplane which first flew in 1938. It was the first De Havilland type to use the new metal-stressed-skin monococque construction and was intended as a competitor to the new all-metal American aircraft being developed at the time. The introduction of the aircraft came as WW2 started and although an initial batch of 20 was laid down, only 14 were completed.

The type first saw service with Jersey Airways, and BOAC ordered 8 for service in the Middle East, but most examples eventually saw service with the RAF as general transports and with the King’s Flight. Some were cannabalised to provide spares for the others, there were a number of crashes, and few examples survived the war. Attempts to resurrect examples for the civil field came to nought and by the mid-1950’s all had been scrapped.

This title contains a good quality digital scan of the manufacturers extremely rare Flight Manual for the DH95 Flamingo, along with the manufacturer’s specification. The files have been scanned from the original flight manuals and retains any colour pages.
